The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium

Do you love animals? Do you enjoy learning about different species from all over the world? If yes, The Columbus Zoo is the place for you! The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium has been ranked the number one zoo in the US in multiple polls over the years. As the home to over 10,000 animals representing 600 species, this world-class zoo offers countless exhibits for animal-lovers. The Franklin Park Conservatory

For families who enjoy the beauty of nature and art, The Franklin Park Conservatory is a gorgeous urban oasis. Located two miles east of downtown Columbus, the conservatory offers year-round experiences indoors and outdoors. Visitors can explore various botanical biomes, gardens, horticultural exhibits, and art displays. The Dale Chihuly glass works display can be viewed throughout the biomes as a breathtaking immersion of art within nature.

The Ohio History Center

As the headquarters of the Ohio History Connection, The Ohio History Center is the ideal place to discover Ohio’s past. From the ice age, to the Civil War, to the 1950s, the museum covers all corners of the Buckeye State’s history. Included with admission to the Ohio History Center is Ohio Village, a recreated 1890s community. The village features 19th-century style buildings including houses, shops, a school, a church, and more. Transport yourselves into the past and learn what everyday life was like 130 years ago.

Central Ohio Metro Parks

Looking for an educational outing that does not come with any fees? Look to the Central Ohio Metro Parks! With over 20 parks to explore, nature lovers in the central Ohio area will never get bored. Head to Highbanks to hike along endless trails and visit the archeological Adena Mounds. Spend an afternoon strolling through the beautiful gardens at Inniswood. Are you into bird watching? Stop by Blendon Woods to witness waterfowl, wild turkeys, and songbirds in their natural environments. If you are a history buff, you’ll love Slate Run’s Living Historical Farm.
