A Grade Ahead Employee Spotlight Series: Meet Joshua AdamsJosh wears duel hats with A Grade Ahead, excelling as both a teacher and administrative assistant. His kind and energetic personality is highly contagious and creates a wonderful relationship with his students who range from 1st grade to High School.

I met with Josh to ask him a few questions, so we can all get to know him a little better!

What Is Your Favorite Part Of Working For A Grade Ahead?

My favorite part of working for A Grade Ahead is the opportunity to work with children, which is an incredible responsibility. I feel that I am not only responsible for teaching them how to achieve, but also how to reach their inner potential and believe in it for themselves.

What Would You Like To Do Most In The Future?

In the future, I would like to write novels, specifically ones that I have been incubating for quite some time. I have always loved a good story, and eventually would like to share my own.

What is your favorite children’s book?

I always thought the Goosebumps books were rather exciting reads as a child. There are a few I remember to this day that I would flip through the pages as fast as I could read them, wondering what surprise lurked around the corner.

If you could go anywhere, where would you go? Why?

I would go to Israel again. There is still so much for me to see and explore, and the deep, rich history of the land would be surely inspiring for anyone to see.

What historical figure do you think is a good role model for kids? Why?

I think that the Lubavitcher Rebbe, of blessed memory, is an incredible role model for kids, as he was a passionate advocate for children having quality education and actualizing self-potential. The Rebbe’s birthday was designated as National Education and Sharing Day to recognize and pay tribute to his efforts for a better education for all American citizens.

What is your favorite holiday? Why?

My favorite holiday is Passover. It is full of so many rich traditions and has always been a time of family and friends coming together for a big festive meal. Some of my fondest memories have occurred during the holiday, particularly those with my grandparents of blessed memory.

What is the best advice for students who want to excel in school?

My advice to students is this: take your education seriously—own it, and be proactive with learning and expanding your mind. Your future is in your hands. How much effort you put into learning is a choice. Oh, and homework isn’t evil! It is incredible practice that puts what you learn to work!

What Is Your Favorite Educational Or Motivational Quote?

One of my favorite quotes is from Menachem Mendel Schneerson: “You cannot add more minutes to the day, but you can utilize each one to the fullest.” A soft, simple reminder that time is so very precious, and we should always try and be our most productive selves.
