The A Grade Ahead staff thinks back to those wonderful mornings where they got the call from the school, watched the ticker on the news, or heard from a loved one that school was cancelled for the day.
What was your favorite thing to do on a snow day? (No school! Hooray!)
Most Popular Answer: Sleeping
This question had the most conflicting answers, with sleeping inching out many other popular answers such as…
- Building a snowman
- Staying In
- Reading
- TV/Movies
- Sledding
- Building a Fort
What types of things have you built out of snow?
Most Popular Answer: Building a Snowman
I’m sure you can guess the most common answer among the A Grade Ahead employees here. Building a snowman took the gold by a substantial amount. Building forts received the silver, and igloos earned the bronze.
What have you always wanted to try building out of snow?
Most Popular Answer: Igloo
An igloo ran away with this question as the top answer. The most humorous response was “an igloo, is this even possible?” I guess building an igloo is more difficult than imagined for the employees of A Grade Ahead. For those of you that agree with the staff, follow the link and get building.
Did you have any traditions when coming in from the snow as a kid?
Most Popular Answer: Drink Hot Cocoa
Traditions are important and can even be quite delicious. By a huge margin, the most popular tradition when coming in from the snow as a kid was drinking a nice hot, steamy cup of hot cocoa.
How much snow did you get growing up?
Most Popular Answer: A Lot
Most of the responses could not recall an exact amount of snow they got while growing up and simply put “A lot” or “too much” as their answer.
One employee remembers the exact time, stating “the blizzard of 78.” The Great Blizzard of 1978 accumulated snowfall amounts from 30 to 40 inches. This is about as tall as your mailbox! When most of the employees said “A lot,” I do not think they had 30-40 inches in mind.
Did your family go sledding or skiing? If so, describe a traditional trip.
Most Popular Answer: Sledding
Most of our staff’s employees and their families picked sledding as their activity on snow days.
What is your favorite thing to do on a snow day as an adult? (No work! Hooray!)
Most Popular Answer: Sleeping
Things have not changed much for the staff from when they were kids. Many of the responses were exactly the same as when prompted, “what is your favorite thing to do on a snow day as a kid?” Sleeping is still the top activity of the responses. Other top choices are listed below:
- Read
- Movies/TV
- Staying in
- Cleaning
What is your least favorite thing about snow as an adult?
Most Popular Answer: Driving
Answers to this were almost unanimous. Driving was the least favorite thing about snow as an adult. Answers varied slightly from “icing off your car” to “the roads”.
