Nichole, a graduate of The Ohio State University in Middle School History and Science, has been with A Grade Ahead for 8 years. Not only does she take care of all operations here at our headquarters, she is also our outgoing employee that knows everyone and everything that is going on around the office! We sat down and asked Nichole a few questions so that you all could get to know her better. Enjoy!
What is your favorite part of working for A Grade Ahead?
What made you further your education in history and science?
I always wanted to work with kids and teaching felt like a good fit for me. History is by far my favorite subject, so I wanted to study that more. I enjoy seeing how things happened, why they happened, and how they have shaped where we are today! Science is fun and interactive, so I knew I would always enjoy teaching it to others!
What would you like to do most in the future (Either professionally or personally)?
Professionally, I would like to continue to grow as a leader for my team. I also would like to push myself out of my comfort zone to find a new way to challenge myself.
What do you like to do for fun?
I have a really cute dog named Asher. I love spending time with him, my friends, and my family. I also enjoy traveling, being outside, sports, cooking, and concerts!
If you can go anywhere, where would you go and why?
There are so many places on my bucket list! Since I am crossing the United Kingdom off this fall, I would say Italy! I enjoy their food and culture, plus the scenery looks just beautiful!
What historical figure do you think is a good role model for kids?
Martin Luther King Jr. He saw an issues in our society in regards to fairness and equality of all races. He fought to change that, but did it in a respectful manner.
What is the best advice for students who want to excel in school?
To push themselves to be the best, but be realistic with their expectations. They are going to have failures, and I want them to learn from them. I want them to embrace their weaknesses to make themselves stronger and wiser. I hope they know that they will never be perfect, but I hope they remember to stay happy and love what they do in life!
What is your favorite motivational quote?
My favorite quote is, “You miss 100% of the shots that you don’t take!”
